PureText Email Newsletter

PureText Email Newsletter is a set of six professional, clean, text only HTML email templates.
  • 6 Layouts
  • 10 Colour options
  • 60 HTML files in total

The code is easily edited so you can customise the colours or the layout as much as you like and create even more options for yourself to use.

I have paid special attention to typography and layout with PureText so that the email will almost always be viewed as intended with only slight variations in a few of the multiple email programs available. I have purposely left out images as a lot of the email programs turn these off by default and require the user to turn them on each time they receive an email. Meaning the intended recipient only sees the text and a lot of empty boxes with crosses in. So using PureText helps you to focus on the content of your email.

Layout

  • Left Sidebar – bullet point sidebar
  • Right Sidebar – bullet point sidebar
  • Blog Style 1 – solid feature box
  • Blog Style 2 – white feature box with border
  • Two Column Text
  • Full Width Text

Fonts

The fonts used in PureText are:
a) Tahoma – for headings, intro copy and bullet point text
b) Verdana – for main body copy at smaller sizes.
c) Arial – for the pre-header copy

These fonts were chosen because of their popularity on both PCs and Macs. So that the vast majority of people will see the email in it’s intended fonts, and if they don’t have them installed, similar fallback fonts are used instead.

Code

The code is clean and fully commented to make it user friendly, so editing the text should be very easy, even for people that don’t understand html.

Each section is marked out in the code and can be cut and pasted as required, so that you can customise the layout to your requirements.

The email templates have been built using HTML Tables with inline css and some embedded css to target specific email browsers to override their default settings so that the template appears as it is intended. This means that any HMTL email program can be used. All you need to do is create a blank template and copy and paste the entire code into the program. The individual programs will have help sections that describe what to do for the specific program.
